Last year Akon stormed the charts on both sides of the Atlantic with his debut "Locked Up". Now he's back in 2006, with this
followup album and of course the single "Smack That" featuring Eminem.
Akon's single tend to have a distinctive sound with his vocals and the beeps and beats for the soundtrack, and Smack That has
that "Locked Up" feel to it. So does a number of other tracks on the album, but Akon is more than just that sound. Indeed this
album showcases his skills both vocally and musically with a mixture of uptempo pop-rap, gansta style and smoove RnB style tracks.
There should be something on this album for everyone, whether you're into your pop, hip hop or RnB.
As well as the collaboration with Eminem on the aforementioned single, there are other hard hitting collaborations: Snoop
Dogg, T-Pain and Styles P
A brilliant album, catching every essence of street, US hip hop and smoove beats.
