The 10th October saw a Def Jam vinyl rerelease campaign. 17 Albums and
19 Singles are being re-pressed and re-released only on vinyl.
It would seem that Universal who now own Def Jam recognise the history
they have from the 21 year catalogue of Def Jam. And what a history. The
releases feature the best over the 21 years, so you've got the new with
the old - Ja Rule alongside Public Enemy, Ludacris with Montell Jordan.
So whether you're Public Enemy Number One, a Ja Rule fan or a lady
loving Cool J, there's no excuse not to revisit the history of hip hop,
Def Jam style and own some true classics. We should not forget tracks
like (You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party) from the Beastie Boys,
Always On Time from Ja Rule or Fight The Power from Public Enemy or
albums like Mama Said Knock You Out, It Takes A Nation Of Millions To
Hold Us Back or Unleash The Dragon.
